A Tribute To Our Most Liked Roller Skating Posts On Facebook!

Posted by Jordan Y on

There’s something nostalgic about roller skating for most people. The sport brings back past times and good memories of when life just seemed a bit more simple. Maybe it was maybe it wasn’t but we do know one thing; roller skating is just as cool as it ever was!

We mixed it up a bit for this post to put our #1 fans in the spotlight to show you what they “like most” about roller skating!

Roller Skate Nation has evolved over the years to appeal to people of all ages and we wouldn’t be here without you guys. We love updating you with all sorts of roller skating memorabilia, news, pop culture, inspiration and more but take a guess which posts you all engage with most?

You’d be right if you guessed antique and vintage related content!

Here’s a snapshot of our most exciting times on Facebook. Here you will find more information about all of the content we share that received 90 likes and more so sit back and lets dive in!

The Vintage Skate Case

These cases are straight up retro and we love them. In fact you can scoop up a case for around $30 if you’re interested. Not only are they a great collector item but they provide ultimate protection for your skates and year long.

You can even use this as a small suit case. Perfect to use for toiletries and other small objects!

The “I Would Kill Myself In Those” High Heeled Boots Roller Skates

Screen Shot 2014-04-22 at 7.50.22 PMBased on the comments, the general consensus is that these “look dangerous”. We have a quick guide to make your own roller skates but we reckon that you don’t try this at home unless it’s just for fun.

Of course however, you will probably try them if you make them or purchase a pair. Start out on the carpet or the grass before taking it to the streets… just an idea!

Roller Skate Mixer!

Screen Shot 2014-04-22 at 7.50.44 PMHands down probably the coolest mixer in the world. An Easy Mix mixer from about the mid 80′s with two classic skate chick photos. Stuff like this is hard to come by these days so consider yourself lucky if you ever make contact with this Easy Mix!

What Roller Skating Taught Me About Living

Did you know this is the title of a blog post you can read here.

Our whole life can be spent afraid of falling; sitting on the sidelines because we’re afraid of scraped knees and bruised egos.

There’s something special about driving along the interstate and seeing a life size roller skate statue. Legend has it that it was created to promote a nearby roller rink. Sadly, the roller rink is gone but the skate lives on!

In fact, this big skate is listed on yelp.com and here are some reviews:

It’s cute. My kids loved the GIANT roller skate when they were little and loved skating here. Hugo’s was the name of the roller rink Roc!

The fact this giant skate is up for review is awesome. Lol. Yelp has made my day. For what it is, it deserves 5 stars. It’s the best giant skate I’ve ever seen!Pass by it every time we take our drive towards i-95 and Virginia beach. Truly wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t there. My family tells me the building used to be hugo’s dance hall and then a roller rink. I guess they just decided to leave the skate behind. :) I’m glad they did.
